Block K, 6^th March 2010 – Seerah Quiz was organized  in conjunction of Heart for  Islam (H4I) 2010 campaign in Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP). This competition was opened for all secondary school students around Perak.

                The registration for participants began around 9.00 a.m. There were 11 groups from various schools that had participated in the event. Each group consists of three members each. Among the schools that participated the event were Sekolah Menengah Agama Izzuddin Shah and Sekolah Menengah Raja Dr Nazrin Shah.

                The quiz was commenced in four different lecture rooms (LR), which were LR 12, LR13, LR 14 and LR 15. There were three groups per room. All questions that were given were based on the history of the prophet Muhammad (pbuh). The quiz had three stages.  The first stage was the Individual Round, each participants were given a multiple choices questions and they had to choose only one correct answer in 30 seconds. They had to figure the question themselves.

                The second stage was the Group Stage. Each group was given a turn to choose a question number from 1 to 25 shown on the screen. In his round, participants are allowed to discuss the question among teammates. If the group failed to answer the question, other groups were given the opportunity to answer the question. The group that collected the highest points are going to the final round. The group that made it to the final round was two groups from Sekolah Menengah Agama Izzuddin Shah and one group Sekolah Menengah Raja Dr Nazrin Shah.

                In the final round, the Lightning Round.In this round, a few questions were asked by the organizer committee to the participants. For every question, the group that raised their hand the fastest was given the chance to answer the question. The group that answered the most questions is the winner.

                The winner for Seerah Quiz was the group from Sekolah Menengah Agama Izzuddin Shah in which the group members were Danial Fitri Bin Mustapa, Muhamad Akmal Bin Ahmad and Muhammad Wafiuddin Bin Rosli. The prize giving ceremony was held in Lecture Hall 3 (LH3) and the prize was given by Ustaz Dawi Cahyono bin Nurdin.

                In my opinion, I had never gone to a quiz this interesting. Usually, a quiz is like a test. And to hold the students interest is quiet hard. The committees used slide shows to present the questions and also a working timer on the screen with the sound effect. All this makes it more interesting and exciting. Congratulations to committee for a job well done and hope for a more creative and interesting method will be presented next time.
